The best time to buy is when you're ready. The busiest time in the area is the onset of spring, which begins late February or early March. April and May bring fishing tournaments, so plan ahead and consider purchasing a home soon if you wish to watch or participate from your own backyard. Summertime, which spans May through early October, is also a good time to occupy the area.
Absolutely! Discovery Bay has a wholesome, down-to-earth feeling that makes it perfect for families. Surrounding areas have very low crime rates, and community residents are pleasant. Kids love fishing on the lake and being out on the water wakeboarding or tubing. Table Rock Lake is a warm water lake, and the temperature is perfect for all ages.
You can build a hangar in the lots adjacent to the runway or build a hangar home. Note that your aircraft must be stowed in your hangar when not in use.
Driving is the easiest way to get to Discovery Bay without a plane, though you can boat through Table Rock Lake as well. We've listed the approximate drive time to Discovery Bay at Norwalk Landing from nearby cities:

Homeowners are responsible for maintaining their property. Residents are free to hire landscape and lawn maintenance services, and we can make recommendations for great service. The Norwalk Landing HOA maintains the private roadways, the boat slips, the runway, and water and sanitary sewer services to the lots. Roads leading to the neighborhood from the surrounding area are publicly maintained.
Discovery Bay offers year-round recreation opportunities, with the optimal time to stay being May through August when temperatures reach 80 or 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Fall, with its serene lake and colorful trees, is beautiful. The winter months are also mild, with temperatures dropping to around 40 degrees and occasional snowfall, although no shoveling is necessary. Many longtime area residents enjoy year-round hiking and golfing opportunities nearby.
